{"id":406474,"date":"2022-02-16T22:04:16","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T19:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/how-britney-spears-life-came-crashing-down-after-hit-movie\/"},"modified":"2022-02-16T22:04:16","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T19:04:16","slug":"how-britney-spears-life-came-crashing-down-after-hit-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/how-britney-spears-life-came-crashing-down-after-hit-movie\/","title":{"rendered":"#How Britney Spears&#8217; life &#8216;came crashing down&#8217; after hit movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#How Britney Spears&#8217; life &#8216;came crashing down&#8217; after hit movie<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>When \u201cCrossroads\u201d hit cinemas 20 years ago, Britney Spears was on top of the world. <\/p>\n<p>The pop princess had scored her first movie role with the coming-of-age flick, and it became an unexpected box-office sleeper hit upon its February 2002 release.<\/p>\n<p>But cracks in the then 19-year-old Spears\u2019 life were already starting to show, according to director Tamra Davis, who spoke with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/britney-spears-crossroads-movie-tamra-davis-1235181765\/\">Variety <\/a>for a new interview marking the cult movie\u2019s milestone anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we would have screenings for the film\u2026  she would see what an impact she had and how this movie really affected people,\u201d Davis, 60, recalled. \u201cI think there was a lot of pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davis says that pressure, combined with hardships in her personal life, caused Spears to break. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cVery soon after the film came out, her life kind of came crashing [down],\u201d the director declared. \u201cShe and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/12\/14\/britney-spears-rips-diane-sawyer-for-2003-interview\/\">Justin [Timberlake] broke up<\/a>, and then her mom and dad broke up. Shonda was just this incredibly intelligent force to be reckoned with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cToxic\u201d superstar was also determined to have Kim Cattrall cast as her on-screen mom  as she was a \u201cSex and the City\u201d fan \u2014 and she got her way. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>\u201cThat was her favorite show. That\u2019s why we went with her. Kim is who we wanted and we\u2019re so excited that she would do this. She was a Britney fan, so we had a fantastic time,\u201d Davis stated. \u201cThat was a dream scenario.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film grossed an impressive $61 million at the box office, far exceeding expectations. She now realizes it was because of the restrictive conditions of the conservatorship. <\/p>\n<p>Spears was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/11\/12\/britney-spears-conservatorship-is-officially-over\/\">released from the legal guardianship<\/a> last November after the #FreeBritney movement gained momentum, with Davis declaring: \u201cIt makes me so happy that she has her freedom, but I\u2019m so sad that she had to go through that.
