For starters, it comes made from sheet plastic, requiring MUCH simpler manufacturing practices than an injection-molded part. Plastic sheet is just a whole lot cheaper and lighter, making the Musguard Omni easy to ship as well as easy to carry around. The sheet, however, radically changes the minute you fold it along those crease lines.
