\n WNBA players on the Atlanta Dream squad, which is co-owned by Sen. Kelly Loeffler, showed up to their Tuesday game<\/a> wearing t-shirts promoting the Georgia lawmaker\u2019s Democratic challenger.<\/p>\n

The statement against Loeffler, who is unpopular among many WNBA players for her opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement and the league\u2019s affiliation with it, was captured on camera and posted to social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Members of the Dream\u2019s Tuesday opponent, the Phoenix Mercury, even joined in \u2014 with players on both sides entering the arena wearing shirts emblazoned with \u201cVote Warnock\u201d and \u201cBlack Lives Matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Williams, a center for the Dream, earlier Tuesday posted a photo of herself to Twitter donning the \u201cVote Warnock\u201d shirt, a nod to Loeffler\u2019s opponent, Raphael Warnock.<\/p>\n

Loeffler, who has been part of Dream ownership since 2011, slammed the move and said she was being targeted by the cancel culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just more proof that the out of control cancel culture wants to shut out anyone who disagrees with them,\u201d the lawmaker wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s clear that the league is more concerned with playing politics than basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, the WNBA Players\u2019 Association union called on league commissioner Cathy Engelbert to remove Loeffler as co-owner of the Atlanta Dream over the lawmaker\u2019s stance on Black Lives Matter.<\/p>\n

The association cited their opposition to Loeffler\u2019s request to use American flags on warmup jerseys instead of the league\u2019s plan to have \u201cBlack Lives Matter\u201d on them.<\/p>\n

In Tuesday\u2019s statement, Loeffler said she stood by her views.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker said she disagreed with the cause over what she called \u201cits radical ideas and Marxist foundations, which include defunding the police and eroding the nuclear family.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
