This entry examines the Star Wars properties we hope to see in 2022 and beyond.&lt;\/em&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<hr\/>\n<p>With <strong><em>Star Wars<\/em><\/strong>: <strong><em>The Book of Boba Fett<\/em><\/strong> concluded, it\u2019s time to look ahead, toward a bright future where one <strong><em>Star Wars<\/em><\/strong> property leads into another. Currently, there\u2019s more mystery floating around the franchise, especially cinematically, than firm release dates. Or at least, release dates with attached narratives.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what we know. Disney+ has already announced a major <em>Star Wars<\/em> slate, and we\u2019re going to get into all that in a minute. However, since <em>Star Wars<\/em> began as movies, our hearts tend to crave the big screen tales the most. The sequel trilogy is over, and we\u2019re ready for more. To satiate those desires, Lucasfilm has saved three dates for three theatrical features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>December 22, 2023<\/li>\n<li>December 19, 2025<\/li>\n<li>December 17, 2027<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Initially, it was believed <strong>Patty Jenkins<\/strong>\u2018 <strong><em>Rogue Squadron<\/em><\/strong> would fall into the first slot, but that movie hit a delay. It\u2019s still on the books, but it seems optimistic that they\u2019ll make that December 22nd date. Is there another movie further along in the process? I\u2019m not sure, although there are some significant prospects, and those dates are still on lock for Lucasfilm.<\/p>\n<p>Possible contenders for these premiere weekends are movies helmed by <strong>Taika Waititi<\/strong>, <strong>Kevin Feige<\/strong>, <strong>J.D. Dillard<\/strong>, and<strong> Rian Johnson<\/strong>. Yes, it does feel improbable that Johnson will return, but there\u2019s been no official cancelation, and it\u2019s hard to give up our naive cheer. Until Lucasfilm says otherwise, our fingers remain crossed.<\/p>\n<p>Unless we have a major surprise on the horizon, <em>Star Wars<\/em> in 2022 will survive on the small screen. But can we really be that mad about it after <em>The Book of Boba Fett<\/em>\u2018s last few episodes and <strong><em>The Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong>\u2018s second season? Oh! Plus,\u00a0<strong><em>The Bad Batch<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and <em><strong>Visions<\/strong> <\/em>in all their animated glory? With each new serial adventure, <strong><em>The Rise of Skywalker<\/em><\/strong> falls further and further into memory.<\/p>\n<p>For our sanity\u2019s sake, let\u2019s focus on the sure bets. Below are the Disney+ shows we\u2019re most confident we\u2019ll see in 2022, or at the very latest, early 2023. While only one has a firm launch date, most have confirmed production schedules. And beyond these five series, we\u2019re also hopeful that we\u2019ll eventually get <strong><em>The Acolyte<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Lando<\/em><\/strong>, and the animated feature <strong><em>A Droid<\/em><\/strong>\u2018<strong><em>s Story<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Plans and dates shuffle, but there\u2019s no ignoring the <em>Star Wars<\/em> floodgates. Set between <em>Revenge of the Sith<\/em> and <em>A New Hope<\/em>, the series shepherded by <em>Mandalorian<\/em> Season 1 director <strong>Deborah Chow<\/strong> promises to deliver an epic rematch between the wise Jedi and his failed <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rentice, Darth Vader. Both <strong>Ewan McGregor<\/strong> and <strong>Hayden Christensen<\/strong> return to the roles they inhabited in the prequel trilogy, and the anticipation for their clash is causing a tremendous disturbance across the fandom.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Mandalorian<\/em> and <em>The Book of Boba Fett<\/em>, not to forget <em>The Clone Wars<\/em>, <em>Rebels<\/em>, and <em>The Bad Batch<\/em>, have revealed great value in the prequels. Lucasfilm pinch-hitter <strong>Tony Gilroy<\/strong> hovers over this series, with <strong>Diego Luna<\/strong> reprising the title character.<\/p>\n<p>Plot details are minimal, but we do know the show will come complete with a stacked cast: <strong>Fiona Shaw<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong>, and <strong>Genevieve O<\/strong>\u2019<strong>Reilly<\/strong> as Mon Mothma, a role she first played in <em>Revenge of the Sith<\/em>.\u00a0<strong>Alan Tudyk<\/strong> will apparently not appear as Andor\u2019s violent droid sidekick K-2S0, but he\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/rogue-one-cassian-andor-series-cast-k2so-absence-explained-alan-tudyk-interview\/\">said in interviews<\/a> that the character will pop up during the show\u2019s second season. So, <em>Andor<\/em> Season 2? The event was traumatic for the characters. And based on reaction to <em>The Book of Boba Fett\u2019s <\/em>repeating\u00a0Kaminoan flashbacks; the event was equally as devastating for the fandom. These early days under Imperial rule are dark and stormy, making young Omega\u2019s optimism all the brighter. As a result, we\u2019ve thrown in with her and her sibling protectors. In a short period of time, we\u2019ve latched on hard, and we demand respite for the clones, knowing full well that peace is many years away. And when they get it, it won\u2019t last long either.<\/p>\n<p>We wait to hear when <em>The Bad Batch<\/em> will return, but we know it\u2019s coming. The next season should take them deeper into the cloning conspiracy barely glimpsed in Season 1. Whatever sins the\u00a0Boba Fett series held were immediately forgiven the moment Din Djarin (<strong>Pedro Pascal<\/strong>) and Grogu appeared. The Deepfake-whatever Luke Skywalker also served as a nice distraction.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Mandalorian<\/em> Season 2 finale pulled the foundlings apart, but <em>The Book of Boba Fett<\/em> brought them together again. The reunion was fast and upended any idea about how a <em>Mandalorian<\/em> third season would begin. Djarin and Grogu could go anywhere from here. They\u2019ve truly ascended into their <em>Lone Wolf and Cub<\/em> status, and the week-to-week adventure possibilities are as endless as they are mysterious. With the young one by his side, does Djarin take his Darksaber to Mandalore? Or do the two lost children live check-to-check, bounty killing their way through an infinite hive of scum and villainy? Whatever path they choose to walk, we\u2019ll enjoy it.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not confirmed if <em>The Mandalorian<\/em> will return this December, but Lucasfilm has secured that month on Disney+ for two years. We can\u2019t imagine them letting it slide in 2022.
