Hardcore Google Assistant users may set up the virtual assistant on dozens (or even hundreds) of devices. But all the phones, speakers, and smart displays that you\u2019ve connected to Google Assistant are only slowing down your voice commands. Thankfully, Google now offers an easy fix for your laggy Assistant.<\/p>\n

As reported by Esper\u2019s<\/a> Mishaal Rahman, Google now lets you remove Assistant from old and idle devices. This minimizes the number of products that Google Assistant needs to check on before carrying out voice commands, thereby speeding up Assistant performance.<\/p>\n

Google has been rolling out a “removed unused [Assistant] devices” setting to some users over the last few months, and I finally got it on my device. This setting will speed up Assistant by letting you remove devices you haven’t used in at least 3 months. pic.twitter.com\/8RHEumeONu<\/a><\/p>\n

Get a faster Assistant by removing devices that haven\u2019t been used in 3 months or more. This means your other Assistant devices won\u2019t be able to communicate with the devices you removed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This feature isn\u2019t available to all users yet, though it may app<\/a>ear in your Google app (if you\u2019re lucky). To check if it\u2019s available on your device, open the Google app, tap your profile photo, and select \u201cSettings.\u201d Then choose the \u201cGoogle Assistant\u201d option and navigate to the \u201cDevices\u201d menu.<\/p>\n

If you see a \u201cRemoved Unused Devices\u201d option, tap it. Google will let you remove Assistant from devices that haven\u2019t used the feature in at least three months. If you want to add a device back, just use Assistant on that device.<\/p>\n

Google Assistant should be a lot more responsive once you clear it from old or unused devices. Now we just need Google to improve the Assistant\u2019s crappy routines!<\/p>\n
