{"id":407504,"date":"2022-02-19T01:43:54","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T22:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/arisen-partners-up-and-running-less-than-a-year-after-bill-hwangs-fall\/"},"modified":"2022-02-19T01:43:54","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T22:43:54","slug":"arisen-partners-up-and-running-less-than-a-year-after-bill-hwangs-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/arisen-partners-up-and-running-less-than-a-year-after-bill-hwangs-fall\/","title":{"rendered":"#AriseN Partners up-and-running less than a year after Bill Hwang&#8217;s fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#AriseN Partners up-and-running less than a year after Bill Hwang&#8217;s fall<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Less than a year after investor Bill Hwang\u2019s\u00a0investment firm imploded \u2014 leaving Wall Street with billions of dollars in losses \u2014 two of Hwang\u2019s prot\u00e9g\u00e9s have hired some of their former Archegos peers to launch a new fund, The Post has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The former Archegos financiers Jensen Ko and Sterling Clay launched the new shop \u2014 AriseN Partners \u2014 late last year, according to a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/edgar.secdatabase.com\/1371\/188376521000001\/filing-main.htm\">little-noticed filing<\/a> with the Securities and Exchange Commission. <\/p>\n<p>According to three AriseN employees\u2019 LinkedIn profiles, multiple people have been working at the fund since July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the October SEC filing, the founders declined to divulge information\u00a0on revenue.\u00a0The filing revealed\u00a0AriseN is a\u00a0registered hedge fund and a limited partnership,\u00a0but other information was scarce. Ko declined to comment to The Post. <\/p>\n<p>The fund is headquartered on\u00a0Sixth Avenue\u00a0\u2014 just two blocks away from the Archegos office\u00a0Seventh Avenue.\u00a0A person close to the situation told The Post it\u2019s almost Archegos 2.0 \u2014 with many of the same people \u2014 and is \u201cbasically like a family office\u201d for the founders.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Bill-Hwang-39.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Bill Hwang\" class=\"wp-image-21263945\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Bill-Hwang-39.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Bill-Hwang-39.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/Bill-Hwang-39.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Bill Hwang lost billions on his family office Archegos Capital \u2014 and his former employees are hoping for a fresh start. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Post was first to report Ko and Clay, who worked at Archegos until its\u00a0epic collapse\u00a0in March, were quietly preparing to launch a new fund, using their former boss\u2019s highly leveraged investment style.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strategy worked until it didn\u2019 \u2026 but it worked,\u201d a source close to one of the Archegos alumni told The Post in explaining their thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Ko and Clay still plan to use their own money over the next year to establish a track record of lucrative investments with the goal of eventually raising money from outside investors, according to people with direct knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>The Post was unable to confirm how much the pair have to invest, but people close to them estimated it could be around $50 million.<\/p>\n<p id=\"block-a920c3c4-2b85-447e-8e78-536396366569\">Ko worked at Archegos with Hwang for 13 years as chief operating officer, and later as its chief <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> officer, according to his LinkedIn profile. Clay, who didn\u2019t im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely respond to a request for comment, was an associate director at Archegos for two years, according to LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
