“#Courteney Cox Regrets Getting So Much Work Done On Her Face: ‘I’m Actually Looking Really Strange’

\nCourteney Cox<\/strong> is opening up about her changing look \u2014 and what she would have done differently in hindsight.<\/p>\n

The Scream<\/em> star\u00a0opened up about aging in a new profile in The Sunday Times<\/em> \u2014 and the regrets she has about trying to evade it.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, the Friends<\/em> alum is 57 years old, and she\u2019s staring down her 60th birthday just a bit up the road. She told the outlet:<\/p>\n

\u201cOh God, it\u2019s so hard to even hear or say. I can\u2019t believe it. There\u2019s nothing wrong with being 60, I just can\u2019t believe it. Time goes so fast. There\u2019s no question that I am more grounded, I\u2019ve learned so much in my life \u2014 what to enjoy, what to try to do more of and what to let go of.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In fact, she\u2019s feeling as youthful as ever. (And of course we\u2019re guessing being with a hunky younger rockstar helps with that!) She explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m young. I have a lot of friends in their 30s and I don\u2019t think about it. To me we\u2019re the same age until I actually study it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We\u2019re so glad she\u2019s embracing her age these days. There was a time when she didn\u2019t! Courteney is obviously one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the big and small screens, and when her age started to show she tried hard to stay in denial \u2014 getting work done on her face to try to slow down mother nature.<\/p>\n

Speaking about her past use of fillers, she admitted:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a time when you go, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m changing. I\u2019m looking older.\u2019 And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years. And I didn\u2019t realize that, \u2018Oh s**t, I\u2019m actually looking really strange\u2019 with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She says the wakeup call was seeing online discourse about what she\u2019d had done \u2014 meaning it was way too noticeable. She knew then she had\u00a0\u201cto stop\u201d because if that\u2019s what people are saying about her face, well, \u201cThat\u2019s just crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Courteney has previously spoken about having her fillers removed. She told\u00a0NewBeauty<\/em> a few years back that she had tried them out, then slowly got more and more:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe next thing you know, you\u2019re layered and layered and layered. You have no idea because it\u2019s gradual until you go, \u2018Oh sh*t, this doesn\u2019t look right.\u2019 And it\u2019s worse in pictures than in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She revealed at the time a friend (or maybe a\u00a0Friend<\/em>?) had to show her some tough love:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have one friend who was like, \u2018Whoa, no more!\u2019 I thought, \u2018I haven\u2019t done anything in six months.\u2019 I didn\u2019t realize.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At the time she said she was off fillers and had given up trying to alter her face, saying the natural look was best:<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do. Things are going to change. Everything\u2019s going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake. You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren\u2019t wrinkles \u2014 they\u2019re smile lines. I\u2019ve had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We love how honest she\u2019s been about all this. And while we certainly understand wanting to look like 1990s Courteney Cox forever \u2014 we mean,\u00a0gawd<\/em>, who wouldn\u2019t? \u2014 it\u2019s good she realized that it was more important to keep looking like Courteney Cox at all.<\/p>\n
