In a new interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/tv\/this-is-us-susan-kelechi-watson-eboni-freeman-little-island-girl\/\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, co-producer Eboni Freeman (who wrote tonight\u2019s episode with Susan Kelechi Watson) had the following to say on the subject:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">I can\u2019t say whether we\u2019ll see Sophie again, but I think that [those texts with Kate were] important. We always work thematically on the show as far as what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened in the past and what\u2019s going on in the present. We learned that she was in the middle of Kevin cheating on Sophie and it broke up her friendship. What\u2019s happening in the present with Madison and Kevin echoes that. So it was just a great full-circle moment to have Kate reach out to her at the end of the episode.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, we do think we\u2019ll see Sophie again \u2014 she was a huge part of the Pearson family for so many years, she was close to Kate, and we know that Kevin will be on the East Coast more as his new home is being built.
