Valve has announced Aperture Desk Job<\/em>, a free playable short made for Steam Deck (but also playable on PC with a controller) set in the Portal<\/em> universe. It will launch via Steam<\/a> on March 1. <\/p>\n

Aperture Desk Job<\/em> reimagines the been-there-done-that genre of walking simulators and puts them in the lightning-spanked, endorphin-gorged world of sitting still behind things.<\/p>\n

You play as an entry-level nobody on their first day at work\u2014your heart full of hope and your legs full of dreams, eager to climb that corporate ladder. But life\u2019s got other plans, and they all involve chairs.<\/p>\n

Designed as a free playable short for Valve\u2019s new Steam Deck, Desk Job walks you through the handheld\u2019s controls and features, while not being nearly as boring as that sounds.<\/p>\n

Not Portal 3<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lower your expectations: This is not a sequel to Portal<\/em>. Now get ready to raise them slightly, because it is in the expanded universe of those games. Desk Job puts you squarely in the driver\u2019s seat at Aperture Science<\/a>. Then quickly removes the driving part and adds a desk in front of the seat.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
