\n A federal grand jury in California has indicted Democratic mega-donor Ed Buck on four additional felony counts related to the fatal drug overdoses of two men at his home.<\/p>\n

Buck, a retired businessman who donated generously to Democratic candidates, was arrested last year following an investigation of the deaths of 55-year-old Timothy Michael Dean in January 2019 and of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore in 2017.<\/p>\n

Buck is accused of gaining sexual gratification from personally causing men to overdose on methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

The new charges leveled Tuesday accuse Buck, 65, of drug crimes and soliciting prostitution when he hosted Moore at his home, in addition to five original counts returned by a federal grand jury last year.<\/p>\n

Both Dean and Moore died from methamphetamine overdoses at Buck\u2019s West Hollywood apartment.<\/p>\n

The federal indictment accuses Buck of also illegally distributing gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), a party drug notoriously used for date-rapes, and the sedative clonazepam.<\/p>\n

Buck, a former fixture of southern California Democratic politics, was arrested last year after a federal grand jury app<\/a>roved five charges related to the deaths. The Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office has a separate case alleging state crimes.<\/p>\n

Buck is accused of using his powerful connections to escape prior scrutiny. Critics note both men who died were poor and black.<\/p>\n

In court papers, Los Angeles prosecutors call Buck a \u201cdangerous sexual predator\u201d who \u201cpreys on men made vulnerable by addiction and homelessness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said \u201cBuck manipulates his victims into participating in his sexual fetishes,\u201d which \u201cinclude supplying and personally administering dangerously large doses of narcotics to his victims.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third man survived two separate meth overdoses at Buck\u2019s home in September 2019, authorities allege. Buck was arrested shortly after the man fled his home for the second time.<\/p>\n

Buck\u2019s federal trial is scheduled to begin in January.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
