Captain Owen Strand (Rob Lowe<\/a>) and his son T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein<\/a>) have suffered a major loss on 9-1-1: Lone Star<\/em>, and as you can see in TV Insider\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of the February 28 episode, this is going to get very emotional.<\/p>\n

The latest episode revealed that T.K.\u2019s mother and Owen\u2019s ex-wife Gwyn (Lisa Edelstein<\/a>) died, the circumstances of which have yet to be revealed. \u201cEverything\u2019s broken now. Do we even know how broken it is?\u201d T.K. asks, his focus on his younger brother. \u201cHe\u2019ll never know a time when it wasn\u2019t. He\u2019ll never know mom.\u201d (As you\u2019ll recall, there was a brief time when they thought that Owen might be the father of Gwyn\u2019s baby.)<\/p>\n

Owen assures his son that his brother will know his mother. Watch the clip above for more, including T.K.\u2019s boyfriend Carlos (Rafael Silva) by his side.<\/p>\n

In this next episode, \u201cIn The Unlikely Event Of An Emergency,\u201d Owen and T.K. travel<\/a> to New York for Gwyn\u2019s funeral, only for the plane to experience a mechanical failure. Plus, T.K. reflects back to when Gwyn helped get him into rehab years ago.<\/p>\n

Rubinstein previously teased this episode to TV Insider, calling it \u201cthe most insane, fulfilling work of my entire career. I was so, so blessed by Tim [Minear] and the writers to have that kind of episode. We\u2019ll see a side of T.K. that we have never seen and we\u2019ll get to learn so much about him. It\u2019s gonna be something else to say the least. It\u2019s definitely the most intense physically and emotionally work I\u2019ve ever done, especially as T.K.\u201d<\/p>\n
