The two received Academy Awards for their portrayals in the categories of Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively, in 1973. In total, <em>Cabaret <\/em>received eight Oscars including Best Director for Fosse. Steven Spielberg took on the challenge of creating his own rendition of the film which was released in 2021, starring Rachel Zegler, Ansel Elgort, Rita Moreno, Ariana DeBose, Mike Faist, and David Alvarez.
