\n Netflix to acquire Next Game<\/a>s <\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Netflix has entered into an agreement to acquire Next Games in a \u20ac65 million agreement expected to close in the second quarter of 2022, the companies announced<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Founded in 2013 and led by Teemu Huuhtanen, Next Games is the studio behind mobile games Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales<\/em>, The Walking Dead: Our World<\/em>, and The Walking Dead: No Man\u2019s Land<\/em>. By the end of 2021, Next Games had app<\/a>roximately 120 employees. In 2020, the developer reported sales of \u20ac27.2 million, with 95 percent of revenue generated from in-game purchases.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext Games has a seasoned management team, strong track record with mobile games based on entertainment franchises, and solid operational capabilities,\u201d said Netflix vice president of games Michael Verdu in a press release. \u201cWe are excited for Next Games to join Netflix as a core studio in a strategic region and key talent market, expanding our internal game studio capabilities. While we\u2019re just getting started in games, I am confident that together with Next Games we will be able to build a portfolio of world class games that will delight our members around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
