{"id":411520,"date":"2022-03-03T00:16:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T21:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/fanatics-valued-at-27b-after-michael-rubins-latest-funding-round\/"},"modified":"2022-03-03T00:16:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-02T21:16:00","slug":"fanatics-valued-at-27b-after-michael-rubins-latest-funding-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/fanatics-valued-at-27b-after-michael-rubins-latest-funding-round\/","title":{"rendered":"#Fanatics valued at $27B after Michael Rubin&#8217;s latest funding round"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Fanatics valued at $27B after Michael Rubin&#8217;s latest funding round<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Fanatics this week completed a $1.5 billion fundraising round that values the purveyor of sportswear at $27 billion, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Founder Michael Rubin still retains majority control after selling shares to Blackrock, Fidelity and new investor MSD Capital, Michael Dell\u2019s investment vehicle, a source said.<\/p>\n<p>A much-anticipated Fanatics IPO is not likely until next year, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Rubin and Fanatics have been a deal-making spree of late,\u00a0nabbing sports-card maker Topps earlier this year and inking\u00a0an agreement with Macy\u2019s late last year\u00a0to sell its gear on the retailer\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>The Rubin-owned Fanatics had been valued late last year at around $18 billion after a $322 million funding round from\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/08\/16\/jay-z-partners-with-fanatics-wants-to-open-new-york-sportsbook\/\">investors, including Jay-Z<\/a>. In January, the sports-licensing company clinched a deal to buy the Topps trading card business that reportedly valued that side of the business at $500 million.<\/p>\n<p>Fanatics acquired vintage team jersey maker Mitchell &amp; Ness last month for around $250 million, a source familiar with the matter told The Post.
