She explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAs I get older, the priorities shift. And I feel like that was that way for both of us. Because we both started so young, too, it\u2019s like we\u2019re really learning how to be healthy adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hmm. Those years that we were dating \u2026 even while I was writing this album and even still now, I guess my focus is really on, \u2018How can I be a well-rounded person?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And she couldn\u2019t be while still being with Shawn? Hmm\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Cabello went on to address her new single <em>Bam Bam<\/em> that dropped on Friday. Many of the lyrics point to the pop star\u2019s breakup with the song beginning:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe were kids at the start, I guess we\u2019re grown-ups now \/ Couldn\u2019t never imagine even havin\u2019 doubts, but not everything works out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Later she also seemingly calls out the Canadian\u2019s thirst traps which he posted shortly after they announced their split, continuing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou said you hated the ocean but you\u2019re surfin\u2019 now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Addressing the song speculation, she shared that the verse in question is all about how \u201cthings change and things take really unexpected turns.\u201d The 25-year-old mused:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI love Shawn and I feel like there is literally nothing but love for him. And this song is mostly just about, like, \u2018OK, how do I make a song that shows the cycles of love and life?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The music video, featuring <strong>Ed Sheeran<\/strong>, follows Camila as she learns to overcome a brutal breakup. It seems pretty inspired by real-life if you recall that sources told <em>E! <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a><\/em> that Shawn \u201cinitiated the conversation\u201d and that the Cuba native was \u201cvery upset over the split.\u201d Check it out (below)!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Camila Cabello - Bam Bam (Official Music Video) ft. At the time, the <em>X Factor<\/em> alum shared the song to her IG, showing support for her ex. It was a pretty strong symbol that the <em>Se\u00f1orita<\/em> songwriters were going to remain \u201cbest friends\u201d following their split, just like they reassured fans when making a joint statement about the end of their relationship last year.<\/p>\n<p>Proving that to be true in the long haul, Shawn and Camila have already been spotted multiple times hanging out, but don\u2019t expect them to rekindle their spark. She told Zane:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m finally at a place where I feel like I\u2019ve had experiences, I\u2019m doing the therapy, I\u2019ve put in a lot of work.
