\n WASHINGTON \u2014 President Trump on Wednesday announced he is dispatching members of his coronavirus task force to different states to help them tailor their response to the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn recent weeks, members of the coronavirus task force have visited over 15 states to encourage them to follow our path forward, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Indiana and Ohio,\u201d Trump said during a White House briefing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext week, Dr. Deborah Birx will be visiting Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas,\u201d he continued, adding the physician was trying to make time to reach West Virginia amid the tour.<\/p>\n

Trump said Birx \u2014 the task force coordinator who has found herself the subject of recent scorn from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi \u2014 would be delivering \u201caggressive, tailored and targeted guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strategy we\u2019re taking to these states will protect those at highest risk while allowing others at a lower risk to safety resume work in schools,\u201d the president said, calling for schools across the nation to reopen.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we do this successfully it can be really something incredible because we\u2019re talking about a lot of states,\u201d he said, lauding the falling rate of infections in Florida and California.<\/p>\n

The number of new daily infections and hospitalizations has been falling for the past week, with 51,568 new cases on Tuesday, down from 77,233 on July 17, according to the Covid Tracking Project.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
