Fortunately, most of them are pretty easy to fix.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check_the_Connection\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_8\">Check the Connection<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Webcams that plug into a USB port can come loose, or the USB port itself can be bad. Double-check that your webcam is securely plugged into a USB port. You should also try changing which port the webcam is plugged into \u2014 sometimes the USB port itself can be the problem. If you have a desktop PC with USB ports on the front or top of the case, try connecting to a USB port on the back of the computer.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Download_Webcam_Drivers\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_9\">Download Webcam Drivers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Your webcam might require special software from the manufacturer to work correctly. The easiest way to find these is to go directly to the manufacturer\u2019s website \u2014 driver downloads are usually found on the support page.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check_Windows_Privacy_Settings\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_10\">Check Windows Privacy Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Windows limits programs\u2019 access to your webcam and microphone to help <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/221864\/digging-into-and-understanding-windows-10s-privacy-settings\/\">protect your privacy and security. Normally this is excellent, but it can occasionally result in your webcam working in some programs and not others.<\/p>\n<p>To check your settings, click the Start button, type \u201cCamera privacy settings\u201d into the search bar, and hit Enter.<\/p>\n<p>Click the switches for \u201cCamera access\u201d and \u201cLet desktop apps access your camera\u201d if they\u2019re set to off.
