Environment variables be read by any program or script that runs on your computer. Environment variables can be defined for individual user accounts, or on a system-wide basis.<\/p>\n<p>One environment variable of note is the Path variable. Path defines what folders are checked for executables when a command is run in a terminal or a script. Take Notepad as an example \u2014 you can type <code>notepad<\/code> into Command Prompt and it will launch im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely. If you type <code>chrome<\/code>, however, you\u2019ll get an error message. If you\u2019re going to add, edit, or delete an environment variable, be sure to double-check what it is you\u2019re doing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Edit_Environment_Variables\"><\/span>How to Edit Environment Variables<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are some minor differences between the user interfaces of Windows 10 and Windows 11, but the basic process of editing environment variables is the same.<\/p>\n<p>To configure your environment variables, click the Start button, then type \u201cenvironment properties\u201d into the search bar and hit Enter. The variable value can take multiple values if you want, but the values must be separated by semicolons.
