He was 71 years old. His son, <strong>Will Hurt<\/strong>, announced the tragic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> in a statement to <em>Deadline<\/em>, revealing that the star died from natural causes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father, and Oscar winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday. He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes. The family requests privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: Traci Braxton Dead At 50 Following Battle With Cancer <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So sad\u2026<\/p>\n<p>When the news broke, Hurt was mourned by several friends and fans on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>, including his <em>Broadcast News<\/em> co-star <strong>Albert Brooks<\/strong> who wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cR.I.P. William Hurt. So sad to hear this news. Working with him on Broadcast News was amazing. He will be greatly missed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>That 70\u2019s Show<\/em> alum <strong>Topher Grace<\/strong>, who worked with Hurt in the 2011 film<em> Too Big to Fail<\/em>, offered his condolences to his family:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGrateful that I had the opportunity to work with William Hurt. I admired his acting so much and watching his commitment in person was remarkable. My thoughts are with his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Avengers: End<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a><\/em> fellow cast member <strong>Mark Ruffalo<\/strong> expressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWow, another Major loss to the acting community. Great actor. Great mind. RIP.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In case you didn\u2019t know, Hurt started his career within the entertainment industry in 1977, coming onto the television <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> <em>Kojak<\/em> for a recurring role. He then made his big-screen debut in the psychological horror film <em>Altered States<\/em> in 1980. Throughout his career, Hurt acquired more than 100 acting credits \u2013 portraying a wide variety of characters in everything from comedy to drama to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> fiction and more. However, he is possibly best known for his <strong>Academy Award<\/strong>-winning role in the 1985 movie <em>Kiss of the Spider Woman<\/em>. Hurt was later nominated for an Oscar again for<em> Children of a Lesser God<\/em>, <em>Broadcast News<\/em>, and<em> A History of Violence<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, he had been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hurt portrayed Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross in <em>The Incredible Hulk<\/em>,<em> Captain America: Civil War<\/em>, <em>Avengers: Infinity War<\/em> and <em>End Game<\/em>, plus <em>Black Widow<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Hurt is survived by his four children.
