To that end, May Adler directed the City Manager to explore how the city can utilize Web3 and blockchain in 20 fields from smart contracts, supply chain management, and insurance to arts, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, fundraising, and identity verification.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe City Manager is directed to ensure the City is helping to create an environment within city government and in the community <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly that supports the creation and development of new technologies, including without limitation blockchain and other Web3 related technologies, protocols, and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mayor Adler\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/assets.austintexas.gov\/austincouncilforum\/66-20220309154643.pdf\">second<\/a> initiative orders the City Manager to conduct a \u201cfact-finding study\u201d on how the city could adopt Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency-related policies. The proposals will be voted on by the city\u2019s council on March 24.<\/p>\n<p>Austin\u2019s City Council has been considering blockchain technological integrations since at least 2020 when a proposal was made to use smart contracts for the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.austintexas.gov\/edims\/document.cfm?id=348908\">MyPass<\/a> identity verification protocol.<\/p>\n<p>Austin is in league with Miami, New York City, and the state of Colorado in rapidly expanding exploration efforts and proposed implementation of policies related to cryptocurrency.
