Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has former President Donald Trump to thank for her 2018 Congressional win, according to her one-time political opponent, former Rep. Joe Crowley.<\/p>\n<p>Crowley attributed his defeat to the liberal Democrat to a \u201cconfluence of things that have h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened at the time,\u201d including Trump\u2019s win in the 2016 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a better, real clear understanding of just how powerful the election of Donald Trump was,\u201d the former Congressman said during a recent podcast interview<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/propolitics.buzzsprout.com\/1704139\/9966493-joe-crowley-former-chair-of-the-house-democratic-caucus-on-two-decades-in-congress\"> \u201cPro Politics with Zac McCary<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many respects, it lit the fire onto the base of our party, and I think that\u2019s a good thing in many respects, you know. Maybe personally, it didn\u2019t work out for me, but I think he created the energy we needed to oust him as president in four years.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the interview, Crowley reflected on losing his seat in the House after serving 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, I never owned the seat in that congressional district, he said. \u201cA congressional district is not owned by any one person.
