\n These petitioners aren\u2019t playing around.<\/p>\n

A doll based on the movie \u201cTrolls\u201d is being pulled from shelves after online watchdogs slammed the toy for allegedly promoting pedophilia.<\/p>\n

Hasbro, the company behind the controversial doll, announced Wednesday that they have begun removing the \u201cTrolls World Tour Giggle and Sing Poppy\u201d from shelves and will be producing a replacement doll.<\/p>\n

The toy giggles and laughs at the press of a button, which is located between the doll\u2019s legs, where genitalia would be on a person.<\/p>\n

The Dreamworks film originally came out in 2016. A sequel, \u201cTrolls World Tour,\u201d was released in March of this year. Anna Kendrick voices Poppy, the character the doll is modeled after.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur society is conditioning our children to think pedophilia is ok. This Trolls World Tour doll named Poppy has a button on her private area under her skirt. When you push this button on the doll\u2019s private she gasps and giggles. This is not okay for a child\u2019s toy!,\u201d reads a Change.org petition started one day ago user Jessica McManis, which has already garnered over 87,000 signatures. \u201cWhat will this toy make our innocent, impressionable children think? That it\u2019s fun when someone touches your private area? That pedophilia and child molestation are ok?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sending the wrong message. Whoever produced this doll has serious problems,\u201d agreed one petition signer.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrooming our children to think that pedophilia is fun or funny not ok!!! This is sick,\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n

The petition is addressed to Target, Walmart, Amazon and other sellers of the toy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis feature was designed to react when the doll was seated, but we recognize the placement of the sensor may be perceived as inapp<\/a>ropriate,\u201d Hasbro spokeswoman Julie Duffy told the Providence Journal. \u201cThis was not intentional and we are happy to provide consumers with a replacement Poppy doll of similar value through our consumer care team. We are in the process of removing the item for purchase.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Hasbro announced they would replace the toy, McManis thanked petition signers for their support. \u201cI didn\u2019t expect my petition to blow up like this! I\u2019m so happy it did! They recalled the doll today,\u201d she wrote in a tweet. \u201cThere\u2019s no way someone at Hasbro didn\u2019t think that it was weird when deciding to create this doll like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
