I hadn\u2019t seen them for so long and all I wanted to do was hang out with them. It\u2019s so cool to get a win for them.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Smith, who in January won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii at 34-under par, did it a different way during this trying week at Sawgrass, where a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of weather delays coupled with one of the most difficult golf courses in the world turned this thing into survival of the fittest as the tournament bled into a fifth day Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He finished 13-under par, one shot better than Anirban Lahiri, who was trying to become only the second player from India ever to win a PGA Tour event, and won $3.6 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Smith shot a very-eventful 6-under-par 66 in Monday\u2019s final round, which included a record-tying 10 birdies. Smith then made a nervy up-and-down for bogey, leaving Lahiri to have to birdie 18 to force a playoff.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lahiri hit his tee shot to the center of the fairway, but followed that with a poor <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach that landed short of the green. His attempt to chip in for birdie stopped about 2 feet short of the cup and Smith was champion, hugging his mother and sister.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was obviously very frustrated at myself,\u2019\u2019 Smith said of the mistake on 18. \u201cFor somewhat of an easy chip shot, probably the easiest shot I had all day, to hit it in the water was quite frustrating. That was disappointing, because I couldn\u2019t have put myself in a better position.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lahiri, who\u2019s never won on the PGA Tour, was both crushed by not winning and buoyed by being in contention in such a massive tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been here seven years [and] haven\u2019t gotten over the line yet,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cThat\u2019s definitely a monkey I want to get off my back. Today was as good an opportunity as any. This is huge, because when you go through such a lean period for such a long time, you start asking yourself, \u2018Man, was that a flash in the pan? What are you doing? You haven\u2019t played good in so long.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour belief takes a hit.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Smith, who elevated to No. 6 in the world rankings, performed like a player who had more belief than anyone in the field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel as though I\u2019m playing the best that I\u2019ve ever played,\u2019\u2019 he said. \u201cI was hitting the ball really well. I felt really confident with my irons. My driver got a little bit skewy the last kind of 12 holes, but was able to kind of scramble around and hit really good iron shots when I needed to.
