As of Monday morning, a gallon of regular-grade fuel cost $4.33 \u2014 up from $3.49 a month ago and just $2.86 at the same time last year, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/\">AAA data<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Since rideshare drivers are responsible for their own maintenance and fuel costs, rising gas prices can effectively wipe out large parts of their paychecks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a> forum for Lyft drivers, one driver wrote, \u201cLyft must be crazy if they think imma drive.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was out last night and it went okay,\u201d the driver said. \u201cTill I had to pump gas and noticed I barely broke even. So sad. I was doing deliveries to have some extra cash and help with bills when I didn\u2019t have enough.
