Andrew Cuomo, accused him of sexual harassment.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Eduardo Munoz Alvarez, File<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThese are not routine actions by state agencies undergoing an Office of the State Comptroller audit and raise serious concerns about the control environment at DOH,\u201d his office said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osc.state.ny.us\/press\/releases\/2022\/03\/dinapoli-states-pandemic-response-nursing-homes-hindered-ill-prepared-state-agency\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osc.state.ny.us\/files\/state-agencies\/audits\/pdf\/sga-2022-20s55.pdf\">58-page audit<\/a> says that the DOH \u201cused alternating methodologies to account for nursing home deaths\u201d during the pandemic and \u201cconsistently underreported the total number\u201d until Feb. 4, 2021 \u2014 about a week after state Attorney General Letitia James issued a report that said the state\u2019s official nursing home death toll may have been undercounted by as much as 50 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In a prepared statement, James said that DiNapoli had confirmed \u201cmany of the findings that we uncovered last year about the state\u2019s response to COVID, most notably that DOH and the former governor undercounted the number of deaths in nursing homes.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/nys-nursing-home-deaths-598.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Then New York Gov.
