Smith about Kyrie Irving, but he does not plan to hold back. <\/p>\n<p>Williams spoke with The Post last week on behalf of his NPR podcast \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/podcasts\/510365\/the-limits-with-jay-williams\">The Limits<\/a>\u201d and said that his \u201cFirst Take\u201d debates are not manufactured.<\/p>\n<p>Given how intense some of the segments have gotten, has this affected his relationship with Smith?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, not at all,\u201d Williams said. \u201cStephen A. is Stephen A. and I am Jay Williams. So, our relationship is solid. That\u2019s real life, right? I don\u2019t go into debates with things being manufactured. That\u2019s not who I am.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not like, \u2018oh I\u2019ll take this side just because you said that side.\u2019<em> <\/em>If I agree with something, and I get asked about a topic, and we h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en to agree on it, I\u2019m not going to change my stance on it for the sake of a debate. Smith are not manufactured.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Screengrab \/ First Take<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Last November, Williams accused Smith of going easier on Aaron Rodgers than Irving on the athletes\u2019 decisions not to be vaccinated against COVID-19. <\/p>\n<p>In January, Williams and Smith sparred again on Irving and vaccination. Williams said the story was \u201cfluid\u201d in the sense that narratives were shifting about how much being vaccinated protects others, and Smith accused him of being an Irving apologist. At one point, \u201cFirst Take\u201d host Molly Qerim stopped the debate, saying Williams had to be on another show.
