Crypto exchanges and firms handling digital assets will be required to register with the government to operate legally in Ukraine, and banks will be allowed to open accounts for crypto firms.<\/p>\n<p>The law endows Ukraine\u2019s National Securities and Stock Market Commission with the power to determine the country\u2019s policies on digital assets, issue licenses to businesses dealing with crypto and act as a financial watchdog. The government agency added that Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Finance was also working towards amending the country\u2019s tax and civil codes to accommodate the legal framework for digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe signing of this law by the president is another important step towards bringing the crypto sector out of the shadows and launching a legal market for virtual assets in Ukraine,\u201d said the Ministry of Digital Transformation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ukraine has legalized the crypto sector \u2014 <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZelenskyyUa?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ZelenskyyUa<\/a> signed a law. From now on foreign and Ukrainian cryptocurrencies exchanges will operate legally and banks will open accounts for crypto companies.
