According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/16\/us\/jussie-smollett-released-bond\/index.html\"><em>CNN,<\/em> <\/a>an Illinois <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eals court granted an emergency motion by his defense attorneys, allowing him to stay home as the appeals process plays out.<\/p>\n<p>When the judge handed down his sentence on Friday (March 11), the former<em> Empire<\/em> actor said matter-of-factly, \u201cYour honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but I did not do this. And I am not suicidal. And if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself. And you must all know that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was then led out of the courtroom with his fist in the air. Defense attorney Nenye Uche called the sentence \u201ca disgrace\u201d in a subsequent press conference and added, \u201cThere is no room for politics in our court system. Regardless of what you think about this case \u2026 the real question is, should Black men be walked into jail for a Class 4 felony?\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jussie Smollett reacts to jail sentence:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am innocent, and I am not suicidal. If I did this, then it means that I stuck my fist in the fears of Black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBT community.\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hWfFYSzicy\">pic.twitter.com\/hWfFYSzicy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pop Crave (@PopCrave) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PopCrave\/status\/1502119631410114566?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Cook County Judge James Linn criticized Smollett for a half-hour as he delivered his decision, telling him he \u201cdestroyed\u201d his life. Hours after he was locked up, his brother uploaded a video to Instagram and reiterated his brother wasn\u2019t suicidal. He also revealed officials added a note to his file claiming he was at-risk for \u201cself-harm,\u201d something his brother refuted.<\/p>\n<p>However, Smollett refused to eat for the last six days, raising the alarm.\u00a0Smollett\u2019s defense filed an emergency motion last week, arguing he\u2019d be \u201cirreparably harmed\u201d if he serves a sentence for convictions that may be reversed, adding he\u2019d probably serve his jail time before the completion of his appeal.
