An Update&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/wendy-williams-show-return-update-scaled.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div> Wendy Williams is ready to reclaim her daytime talk show thrown after battling ongoing health issues, but it sounds like her return won\u2019t be anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p><em>Good Morning America<\/em> talked to the host in an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goodmorningamerica.com\/culture\/story\/wendy-williams-addresses-health-legal-battle-wells-fargo-83498252\">interview<\/a> on Thursday, March 17, in which she claimed she was \u201ccomfortable\u201d and \u201cready\u201d to get back to work. \u201cGive me about three months. There are private things that I have to deal with and then I\u2019ll be ready to come back and be free and ready to do my thing,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>However, Debmar Mercury, a <em>Wendy Williams Show<\/em> distributor, told <em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/tv\/wendy-williams-show-return-health-update\/\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em> this week that the earliest fans could see Williams back on-air would be September 2023. So if she\u2019s ready, why the delay?<\/p>\n<p>Following Williams\u2019 absence, it was announced last month that guest host Sherri Shepherd will be taking over the show\u2019s time slot with her new talk show <em>Sherri<\/em>, which will premiere this fall after Williams\u2019 current season concludes. According to Mercury, most of the show\u2019s staff are now committed to the new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, though Williams\u2019 syndication company is open to helping the 57-year-old return to the small screen when she\u2019s ready.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what I would love to say to my Wendy watchers,\u201d Williams told GMA, \u201cKeep watching because I\u2019m going to be back on the Wendy show bigger and brighter than ever.\u201d However, when asked to respond to Mercury\u2019s comments, a representative of Williams, Howard Bragman, told EW, \u201cShe doesn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, the daytime host revealed her diagnosis with the autoimmune disorder Grave\u2019s disease, which causes overactive thyroid problems (hyperthyroidism). She took a two-month hiatus from the series that same year, along with another health-related break in May 2020.
