Your friends have other plans, however \u2014 they see you\u2019re online, and they want to chat! Fortunately, Steam makes it possible to hide your status. Here\u2019s how to do it.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Setting_Your_Status_to_Offline_Does\"><\/span>What Setting Your Status to Offline Does<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Steam includes a variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> functions, including chat and the ability to see what games your friends are playing. Setting your status to invisible will make you <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear offline to all of your friends, but you\u2019ll still be able to send and receive messages, and use all of the other social functions Steam has to offer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Setting your status to offline or invisible is different from setting Steam to offline mode. You can still play online multiplayer games with your <em>status<\/em> set to offline; you cannot when Steam is set to offline mode.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Go_Offline_on_Steam\"><\/span>How to Go Offline on Steam<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are two places on Steam where you can change your status.<\/p>\n<p>The first is the \u201cFriends\u201d menu, found in the top left.
