This makes it kind of hard to ignore people you don\u2019t really want to talk to. Fortunately, there\u2019s an easy way to hide your active status.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Disable_Active_Status_on_Mobile\"><\/span>Disable Active Status on Mobile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If \u2014 like most users \u2014 you use Messenger on mobile, finding where to disable your Active Status can be a little confusing because it\u2019s tucked away a bit.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> You can find this setting in the same place on both <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/geo.itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/messenger\/id454638411?mt=8&amp;at=1010loXs&amp;ct=338698\">iPhone<\/a>\u00a0and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.facebook.orca\">Android<\/a>, though the menus look slightly different. Just note that doing so also disables your ability to see the active status of other people. It seems Facebook wants this to be a two-way street. The second from the top allows you to hide your status from everyone barring a few chosen exceptions.
