\n The Commission on Presidential Debates on Thursday rejected President Trump\u2019s request that it schedule a fourth presidential debate.<\/p>\n

Trump attorney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani requested the additional debate\u00a0to accommodate people voting earlier than usual by mail due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny voter who wishes to watch one or more debates before voting will be well aware of that opportunity,\u201d the commission wrote in a denial letter first reported by Axios.<\/p>\n

Trump said Wednesday he wants the debates moved so that they can happ<\/a>en before ballots are mailed to voters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first debate should be at least before the first ballots go out and they have it a month later, almost a month later \u2014 it\u2019s ridiculous,\u201d Trump said in a \u201cFox & Friends\u201d interview.<\/p>\n

Trump allies see debates as a major opportunity for the president against Democrat Joe Biden \u2014 who Trump often says is in mental decline.<\/p>\n

Trump suggested on Wednesday that Biden wants to avoid the forums altogether.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear he wants to get out \u2014 but he has, in all fairness to him, he has not said that,\u201d Trump said. \u201cMy people are telling me that they\u2019re playing very cute. They\u2019re trying to get out, there\u2019s no question about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first debate is scheduled for Sept. 29 in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by an Oct. 15 debate in Miami, Florida, and an Oct. 22 debate in Nashville, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

Trump said he believes the commission \u2014 a nonprofit formed in 1987 \u2014 is biased against him. \u201cThis is a Clinton-Obama-type commission and, you know, they call it a beautiful name, but I\u2019m not happy with it,\u201d he said on \u201cFox & Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump said in 2016 the commission \u201capologized to me for what they did, they were oscillating my mic during one debate. They\u2019ve actually apologized, if you can believe it,\u00a0 I have it in writing.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
