The fund will <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/en\/news-release\/2022\/03\/22\/2407606\/0\/en\/Grayscale-Investments-Launches-Smart-Contract-Platform-Fund.html\">provide<\/a> exposure to seven smart contract platforms at the following weightings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cardano (ADA): 24.63%<\/li>\n<li>Solana (SOL): 24.27%<\/li>\n<li>Avalanche (AVAX): 16.96%<\/li>\n<li>Polkadot (DOT): 16.16%<\/li>\n<li>Polygon (MATIC): 9.65%<\/li>\n<li>Algorand (ALGO): 4.27%<\/li>\n<li>Stellar (XLM): 4.06%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Grayscale said the new fund is now open for daily subscription by accredited investors.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum\u2019s dominance as the premier smart contract platform is being challenged by competitors that claim to offer superior transaction speeds, lower costs and higher throughput capacity. While Ethereum continues to dominate the decentralized application space, the DeFi industry is becoming a more level playing field. Currently, Ethereum accounts for just over 55.4% of the total value locked on DeFi protocols, down from over 96% in January 2021, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/defillama.com\/chains\">according<\/a> to DeFi Llama.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-03\/306f21a1-4fe1-4cef-91c9-1eb2e32dac43.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ethereum remains the largest DeFi platform by total value locked, but its dominance has eroded over the past year.
