I hope you never live another day without the soul-crushing weight of me on your mind,\u201d one of the victims told him, the outlet reported. \u201cI am not weak. I am not defenseless. I am not an object for you to use at your disposal. I will not be haunted by the thought of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Joan Synenberg called Burks \u2014 who preyed on his victims outside restaurants in the city\u2019s downtown \u2014 \u201ccunning\u201d and \u201cruthless\u201d during the sentencing, saying he targeted women who had been trying to get home safely by taking Ubers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is not one thing that the victims did where they bear responsibility for what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened to them,\u201d Synenberg said Tuesday, Cleveland.com reported. \u201cI hope they can free themselves of any space you occupy in their heads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another victim who thought she was getting into an Uber when Burks assaulted her also spoke \u2014 but wasn\u2019t able to look at him in court.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/cleveland-rapist-175.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"An Uber sign is displayed inside a car in Palatine, Illinois.\" class=\"wp-image-21620398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/cleveland-rapist-175.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/cleveland-rapist-175.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/cleveland-rapist-175.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Christian Burks allegedly faked being an Uber driver and raped five female passengers in separate instances.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Nam Y. Huh, File<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI know there are many more men, and many more people, who have bad intentions that I cannot save them from,\u201d she said, Cleveland.com reported. \u201cBut I can stand up here and tell you today that the world is a less safe and more dangerous place for all of these young women when this man is allowed freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third victim sobbed on the stand during her testimony and said the attack haunts her every day: \u201cI never would have thought my life would have gotten here. I was tricked into believing someone was what they weren\u2019t,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Burks, a father of four, also pleaded guilty to four counts of kidnapping, two counts of abduction, one count of theft, and one count of domestic violence. <\/p>\n<p>He had been staring down a maximum sentence of more than a century.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
