LUCIE \u2014 As the Mets go through another spring training hoping it is the beginning of a championship season, they have brought back a member of their last World <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Series<\/a>-winning team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mookie Wilson joined Mike Piazza as a guest instructor in camp this week, working with the outfielders during workouts and sharing his wealth of knowledge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just trying to keep from pulling a hammy out here,\u201d Wilson said with a laugh at Clover Park. \u201cBut just being on a ballfield, you get excited. It\u2019s a different animal altogether. A lot of times it\u2019s not all about your performance. Once players understand that, I think they\u2019ll adapt to New York a whole lot easier.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Wilson and Piazza, former Mets Al Leiter and David Wright are also scheduled to serve as guest instructors before camp breaks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s important to us,\u201d manager Buck Showalter said. \u201cThere are a lot of guys to pick from. You\u2019ll see other guys as we go forward. Some of it was COVID and some of them said no and some of them weren\u2019t comfortable with where they were with the vaccinations. We were lucky to get a great group. Al\u2019s coming and David\u2019s coming. He\u2019ll be with us for that last part of spring, so looking forward to seeing him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMookie\u2019s getting after it. He\u2019s done this before. It doesn\u2019t surprise anybody. He always uplifts the room when he walks in.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As for his perspective on this year\u2019s edition of the Mets, Wilson was <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciative of the speed they added in Starling Marte, who led the majors with 47 stolen bases last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor lack of a better term, the one flaw that we had the past couple years is we were one-dimensional,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cSpeed is a great asset to have. It covers up a lot of mistakes, but it can also give you another element.
