She highlighted the fact that such closeness provides mutual advantages for both artists and fans: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful cycle that we\u2019re seeing in this space. We are closely connected to our fans\u2026 so we know what they want, and they motivate us to create work that is true to ourselves and true to our craft.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That connection with fans is <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent the moment one enters the NFT space. A collector may join a Discord channel from an NFT project or begin following an artist or a collection\u2019s account. Through those <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, collectors can voice their opinions and get real-time updates directly from the content creators about the direction they are taking with their art. As Weber stated, such an arrangement allows artists to \u201cthink more widely about how we can give back to our supporters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She believes that this two-way street of communication between artists and fans \u201chas taken out the middlemen and the galleries\u201d which \u201cpushes you to stand up as an artist\u201d and be \u201cat the forefront of your project.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The process that generated the apparent give-and-take cycle in the NFT space took time to develop, as noted by another panelist and founder of the Metakey NFT collection, \u201cMatty\u201d. He said that when he started his foray into the NFT space about four years ago, \u201cevery Discord had like 200 people, and if it had 1,000, it was a big project.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>However, sales in the NFT industry currently outweigh those from the traditional art auction industry. Last year, NFT sales totaled about $23.1 billion according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dappradar.com\/blog\/2021-dapp-industry-report\">DappRadar<\/a> while traditional non-NFT art auction sales topped $16.8 billion according to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ibtimes.com\/art-sales-hit-all-time-high-2021-3436476\">outlet<\/a> International Business Times. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Snoop Dogg may be the face of Web3 and NFTs, but what does that mean for the industry?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matty attributes the growth of the NFT space to a small number of catalysts such as Dapper Labs\u2019 NBA Top Shot NFT collection that \u201cbuilt something that was really easy to understand, and it clicked.\u201d In his view, there will be more catalysts in the gaming and creative industries that begin to integrate NFTs.<\/p>\n<p>As of the time of writing, the NBA Top Shot discord channel had nearly 224,000 members.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"nifty_newsletter\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
