Yeah, Google will implement a similar policy on March 31st. But oddly enough, Google just made a last-minute pivot. It\u2019s now exploring <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/android-developers.googleblog.com\/2022\/03\/user-choice-billing.html\">a \u201cuser choice\u201d billing option<\/a> that will genuinely improve the payment experience in all Android apps.<\/p>\n<p>The idea behind user choice billing is pretty simple. Participating apps no longer have to force users into a browser window for external payment options. Instead, they can include their own payment system directly in their apps\u2014so long as \u201cPay with Google\u201d is also an option.<\/p>\n<p>Google is still exploring user choice billing, so the rules aren\u2019t set in stone. Also, the company has only confirmed that it\u2019s testing this system <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fnewsroom.spotify.com%2F2022-03-23%2Fspotify-and-google-announce-user-choice-billing%2F\">with Spotify<\/a>. Other developers are still forced to adopt \u201cPay with Google\u201d and ditch their browser-based payment systems on March 31st, which is unfortunate. (There\u2019s a bit of leniency here, as developers can file an appeal with Google to extend the March 31st deadline.)<\/p>\n<p>The good <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> is that user choice billing will improve your experience as a customer. Once it rolls out, you can open an app like Spotify and pay for a subscription using whatever billing system you choose. If you don\u2019t feel like typing in your credit card info, there\u2019s Google\u2019s payment system. And if you want to give Google the finger, you can pay Spotify directly.<\/p>\n<p>That said, we\u2019re not entirely sure what the future holds. Google takes a cut of all payments made through its billing system, so many developers have responded by jacking up in-app prices.
