The ride is 430-feet-tall, according to the attraction. The ride is operated by the SlingShot Group of Companies.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement a spokesperson for Dollywood said that that their \u201cDrop Line\u201d ride was developed by the same manufacturer as the Orlando FreeFall ride, and said it will be closed \u201cout of an abundance of caution,\u201d according to WATE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough Dollywood does not have the specific ride involved in this tragic incident, the safety of our guests is our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, and until further details about the accident at ICON Park are known, we have temporarily closed Drop Line, our drop tower ride that was developed by the same manufacturer,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>The Drop Line at Dollywood stands at 230-feet-tall with a maximum speed of 78 miles per hour, according to a\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/hfedam.hfecorp.com\/portals\/qxvtpacy\/Dollywood'sMediaRoom\/c\/2f34156b-d952-4ca0-8791-a901aa4efb8c\">fact sheet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Video footage of the incident shows the\u00a0Orlando\u00a0FreeFall ride moments before the 14-year-old fell to his death.<\/p>\n<p>Sampson was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was like, \u2018This thing is moving.\u2019 \u2026 That\u2019s when he started freaking out,\u201d Yarnell Sampson,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox35orlando.com\/news\/father-of-14-year-old-killed-on-the-free-fall-drop-ride-wants-answers\"><u>told FOX 35 Orlando<\/u><\/a>. \u201cHe was explaining to his friends next to him \u2026 \u2018If I don\u2019t make it down \u2026 please tell my mom and dad I love them.\u2019 For him to say something like that, he must\u2019ve felt something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got a little closer and it was a person laying on the ground,\u201d Montrey Williams said. \u201cEveryone was just panicking and screaming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ICON Park tweeted a statement, which says it is cooperating with law enforcement and grieving the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the SlingShot Group, which operates the Orlando FreeFall, said that it will cooperate with the investigation and expressed its deepest sympathy to family and friends of Sampson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are heartbroken with the incident that took the life of one of our guests. We extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to his family and friends. We are working with the Sheriff\u2019s Office and ride officials on a full investigation.
