Founded by Gabriel Kozak and Du\u0161an Matuska, the Bitcoin mining facility uses human and animal waste to generate electricity for mining.<\/p>\n<p>Matuska, the man \u201cwho met Satoshi Nakomoto\u201d, told Cointelegraph that \u201cmethane from biodegradation processes runs our machines.\u201d As human and animal waste isn\u2019t running out any time soon, their BTC mining process is both environmentally friendly and renewable. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-03\/7bc1f650-f577-4979-af6f-b9ecd1c8de94.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Matuska and his colleague rigging up the Bitcoin miners in the plant. Source:\u00a0Du\u0161an\u00a0Matuska<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to Matuska, using renewable energies such as biogas \u201cshows that we can really accelerate the adoption of these renewables and make their return on investment higher in the end,\u201d while also being a cheap source of energy. <\/p>\n<p>An ecologically sound and low-cost way of generating electricity, biogas electricity plants convert waste into methane gas due to a fermentation process. The gas is then burned as fuel. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-03\/6675e64a-2b42-4b10-99ca-abaa591c1f52.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A steaming hot delivery of unmined Bitcoin, ready for energy transfer. Source: Matuska\u00a0<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Matt Lohstroh, Co-founder of Giga Energy, a natural gas Bitcoin miner in Texas, told Cointelegraph that \u201cfinding cheap energy [for Bitcoin mining] quickly is the largest issue. All the low-hanging fruit is being plucked away.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Matuska added that \u201cthe situation with energy in Europe changed dramatically in November with a huge price increasing together with a conflict around the corner.\u201d As Lohstroh alludes, turning a profit with Bitcoin mining can be tricky, which keeps Matuska both \u201cbusy and worried.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, an eternal optimist, Matuska also told Cointelegraph:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThe most exciting part [about Bitcoin mining] is knowing that we are like \u2018Bitcoin security guys,\u2019 helping just a little with our hashrate. Source: Matuska<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If he is looking for ideas for the excessive heat, look no further than the creative Bitcoin mining community which uses Bitcoin mining heat to warm campervans, grow flowers in the Netherlands and dry out timber from logging in Norway. <\/p>\n<p>Matuska \u201cdefinitely\u201d recommends that more and more curious Bitcoiners get into Bitcoin mining: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cYou can gain a lot of useful knowledge while setting up your first miner. Compass Mining, the pioneers of Bitcoin mining at home, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/compassmining.io\/education\/compass-launches-home-mining\/\">launched<\/a> direct-to-consumer hardware sales in late 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The CEO of Compass, Whit Gibbs, told Cointelegraph that Bitcoin miners are some of the biggest Bitcoin bills. He illustrates the point, \u201cyou could buy $10,000 worth of bitcoin or you can buy an ASIC (Bitcoin mining machine),\u201d knowing full well that it should return the initial investment over a \u201c12 to 14-month\u201d period.
