Canada needs less financial control for politicians and bankers and more financial freedom for the people. That includes freedom to own and use crypto, tokens, smart contracts and decentralized finance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Poilievre is an enthusiastic supporter of unregulated, volatile crypto currencies.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In February, Poilievre <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared on a cryptocurrency podcast hosted by a bitcoin trader who has promoted COVID-19 conspiracies and has compared central banking policies to slavery and Nazi Germany. Poilievre told the show\u2019s host, Robert Breedlove, that he and his wife occasionally watch his cryptocurrency <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> channel \u201clate into the night.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>A deal at last:<\/strong> <strong>Doug Ford<\/strong> and <strong>Justin Trudeau<\/strong> were in Brampton Monday to announce a <strong>$13.2-billion child care deal<\/strong> to bring $10-a-day child care by September 2025.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Ontario was the only jurisdiction in Canada that had not signed onto the federal government\u2019s plan, which aims to reduce child-care fees to an average of $10 a day by 2026. A news release issued Monday by the Ontario Ministry of Education said the deal includes \u201cflexibility to allocate federal funding in a way that will allow the province to deliver an average of $10 a day child care, including by spending the initial $10.2 billion over four years instead of five.\u201d <strong>Ontario had been holding out<\/strong> for more money, with Ford maintaining $10.2 billion would not be enough to provide $10-a-day child care for families across the province.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Jets picked:\u00a0<\/strong>Procurement Minister <strong>Filomena Tassi<\/strong> and Defence Minister <strong>Anita Anand<\/strong>\u00a0announced Monday that the government has selected <strong>F-35 fighter jets<\/strong> as its preferred bidder in a $19-billion search for a new warplane, the Globe <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/canada\/article-canada-picks-us-made-f-35-fighter-jet-as-next-warplane\/\">reports<\/a>.\u00a0Ottawa will start negotiating solely with Lockheed Martin on a contract.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Prime Minister Justin Trudeau\u2019s government is expected to hold up the selection of the F-35 as evidence that it is spending more on defence. However, this is a <strong>replacement of an existing asset<\/strong> in the Canadian Forces, not an expanded commitment to military spending.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>CP\u2019s\u00a0 <strong>Lee Berthiaume<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalnewswatch.com\/2022\/03\/28\/liberals-expected-to-launch-negotiations-to-buy-f-35-fighter-jets-2\/#.YkH9IFXMKUk\">considers<\/a> some of the questions left unanswered by the announcement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Busted:<\/strong> MPP <strong>Randy Hillier<\/strong> surrendered to Ottawa police on Monday to face nine charges related to his involvement in the convoy protest, CP <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalnewswatch.com\/2022\/03\/28\/ontario-mpp-randy-hillier-facing-nine-charges-after-ottawa-convoy-protest\/#.YkHGE6jQ-Ul\">reports:\u00a0<\/a> \u201cDiffering and dissenting views are now apparently criminal, so that is a disturbing trend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The OPP laid nine charges, including two counts of obstructing or resisting a public officer, one count of assaulting a peace or public officer and three counts of counselling an uncommitted indictable office, two of which are considered mischief.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questioned:\u00a0Jason Kenney<\/strong> said Monday he has been interviewed by RCMP as part of an investigation into potential criminal identity fraud in the 2017 United Conservative Party leadership contest, CP <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalnewswatch.com\/2022\/03\/28\/kenney-interviewed-by-rcmp-in-criminal-probe-tied-to-party-leadership-race\/#.YkIf-lXMKUl\">reports:\u00a0<\/a>\u201cI did an interview at (their) request, once. As I\u2019ve said from the very beginning \u2026 <strong>we\u2019d always be happy to answer questions<\/strong>. At the end of the day, my campaign did everything it could to carefully follow all of the rules, and I\u2019m confident we did so.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Last week, CBC reported two insiders alleged in court affidavits that Kenney was in the room when the illegal Callaway donations were discussed. The allegations have not been proven in court. Kenney, asked Monday if he was aware of illegal disbursements, reiterated earlier denials. \u201cNo, absolutely not,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Defends meme:<\/strong>\u00a0Kenney defended <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jkenney\/status\/1508460397002571776?s=20&amp;t=tIaxtAXQO-YuJThK-gMtmQ\">a meme<\/a> he shared Monday using the controversy from the Oscars on Sunday, showing actor <strong>Will Smith<\/strong> striking award presenter <strong>Chris Rock<\/strong>, the <em>Calgary Herald<\/em> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/calgaryherald.com\/news\/politics\/kenney-stands-by-meme-calling-out-green-energy-policy\">reports<\/a>. The image is captioned with the words \u201cGreen Energy Policy\u201d over Rock and \u201cReality\u201d over Smith: \u201cThis is a meme that\u2019s taken over the internet. It\u2019s a creative way of making a point.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duelling polls:<\/strong> Two new polls on the Liberal-NDP non-coalition present different pictures of public reaction. A <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/angusreid.org\/ndp-liberal-confidence-supply-coalition\/\">poll<\/a> from the Angus\u00a0 Reid Institute shows\u00a045 per cent support the deal and 43 per cent oppose it. Another\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/abacusdata.ca\/canadian-politics-liberal-ndp-deal\/\">survey<\/a> from Abacus Data found\u00a048 per cent felt it would be good for Canada while 27 per cent felt it would be bad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In favour:<\/strong> The deal is a rare example of a politician favouring results over politics, <strong>Lawrence Martin<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/opinion\/article-jagmeet-singh-puts-on-a-rare-display-of-integrity-in-politics\/\">writes<\/a> in the Globe about <strong>Jagmeet Singh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>He appears to realize his party does not have a reasonable chance at forming government and that his primary role, therefore, is moving those in power as close as he can to his NDP priorities. That said, his arrangement with Mr. Trudeau is less than meets the eye. The two parties were already aligned on many of the issues in the agreement. Mr. Singh didn\u2019t nail down Mr. Trudeau with enough specifics on dental care, pharmacare and issues such as climate change. Much of the document is aspirational. Given his big gift to Mr. Trudeau, he could have exacted bigger concessions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Grumpy Grits:<\/strong> Not everyone in the Liberal party is happy about the deal, though. In the <em>Hill Times<\/em>, <strong>Abbas Rana<\/strong> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hilltimes.com\/2022\/03\/28\/no-difference-left-between-the-liberals-and-the-ndp-after-confidence-and-supply-agreement-say-some-liberal-mps\/352046\">talks to<\/a> some unnamed MPs who don\u2019t like how it was handled.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThere\u2019s the irony that this was kept from members of caucus until it actually was a fait accompli,\u201d said a second MP. \u201cAnd the irony here is, even though if the details of that nature were kept from our caucus, NDP MPs actually got to have a say on it. So that juxtaposition, in my opinion, is very, very troubling.
