Tom gets support from his hairstylist wife, Jen (Katie Lowes, <i>Inventing Anna<\/i>); their tap-dancing son, Sam (Mason Wells); Tom\u2019s overprotective mom, Helen (Julie White); and sometimes coach Archie. \u201cOur show has an underlying positivity, like <i>Ted Lasso<\/i>,\u201d Holmes says. \u201cAnd in the way <i>Ted Lasso<\/i> takes no cheap shots at soccer, our show doesn\u2019t make fun of bowling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No wonder: <i>How We Roll<\/i> is based on Michigan assembly plant reject turned PBA world champion Tom Smallwood, who is a consultant.
