The games, according to sources, will be primarily on Friday nights.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first game will be Friday, April 22, when the Yankees host Cleveland, The Post has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Amazon and YES declined comment.<\/p>\n<p>To be as clear as possible, these games will not be on YES or any other service. Only Amazon Prime Video. They will be only available in the Yankees\u2019 local footprint, which is primarily in the New York tri-state region. These are the games that used to be on Ch. 11.<\/p>\n<p>This is all part of the sports streaming evolution, which is upon us, as fans are being asked to pay for more services to see their team\u2019s games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first local touchpoint this season that is likely to cause a ruckus will be <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le TV+\u2019s new Friday night package, which will have the Mets\u2019 second game of the season on April 8 when Max Scherzer is expected to make his debut against his old team, the Nationals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MLB Network will be producing the Apple TV+ game, meaning Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling will not be on the call. MLBN is still determining who will be on the mics. (It\u2019s a week away, folks. Let\u2019s go!) The Yankees also have two Apple TV+ games in the first 12 Friday nights.<\/p>\n<p>        <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Podcast\" width=\"100%\" height=\"188px\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.acast.com\/e8694331-5bf3-4cf2-8bce-2551592c0cbe\/624380f5e47ad90012143fc9?accentColor=2a2a2a&amp;bgColor=f6f6f6&amp;font-family=proxima%20nova&amp;logo=false&amp;secondaryColor=cc3333\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;\"><br \/>\n        <\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Besides the Apple TV+ agreement, MLB plans to add some weekly Sunday late morning\/early afternoon games on NBC\u2019s streaming service, Peacock. That deal is not yet announced, as those games are not expected to begin until May. Hence, there is no schedule yet.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, baseball fans still need cable. Regional sports networks, like YES and SNY, have the vast majority of the games. ESPN has exclusive \u201cSunday Night Baseball\u201d games. TBS will have a new Tuesday night schedule, but the games will not be exclusive.<\/p>\n<p>The Amazon <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> may come as a surprise to viewers, but it has been in the offing for years. As far back as June 2019, The Post reported that Amazon could have Yankees games on its video streaming service. So, unlike Apple TV+, the viewing experience will feel familiar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As for fans outside of the Yankees\u2019 tri-state footprint that have the out-of-market package to watch the Yankees through MLB.TV, the expectation is that those fans would still be able to watch these 21 games. <\/p>\n<p>Amazon\u2019s sports video strategy has focused on obtaining rights to the most impactful programming. Besides the Yankees, it will premiere its exclusive coverage of NFL \u201cThursday Night Football\u201d in the fall. Internationally, it has made inroads with top soccer games, like the Premier League, and cricket.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon Prime has reported having more than 200 million subscribers. Now, in the tri-state New York region, Yankees games are being added to service. It will be the only place you will be able to see these Yankees games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schrager_was_on_top_of_it\"><\/span>Schrager was on top of it<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There were a few folks ahead of the \u201csomething is fishy\u201d <strong>Tom Brady<\/strong>\u2013<strong>Bruce Arians<\/strong> story. The fact that Brady retired, unretired and then Arians stepped down is too coincidental \u2013 especially with the feeling the two did not get along.\u00a0One person I saw that was all over it was NFL Network\u2019s <strong>Peter Schrager<\/strong>. He has been on top of the behind-the-scenes machinations that there was some friction between the two. On Thursday, with <strong>Rachel Bonetta<\/strong> in the host chair, the \u201cGood Morning Football\u201d crew did a fine job, reporting the facts, but raising their eyebrows. Insiders don\u2019t have to break the news \u2013 though that is important \u2013 but really giving us more insight is where the money should be.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Clicker_Book_Club\"><\/span>Clicker Book Club<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Papa Clicker doesn\u2019t play favorites, so he did have a quibble with New\u00a0York Post sports columnist <strong>Ian O\u2019Connor<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cCoach K, The Rise and Reign of <strong>Mike Krzyzewski<\/strong>.\u201d O\u2019Connor\u2019s book is so well done and it is now the authority on Krzyzewski\u2019s legendary career, but Papa Clicker wanted more than a half page on Lehigh\u2019s 2012 NCAA Tournament upset of Duke. The reason? Papa Clicker, my dad, <strong>Herb Marchand<\/strong>, is a Lehigh graduate, class of 1966.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that minor transgression, \u201cCoach K\u201d is a must-read, earning another high grade. O\u2019Connor\u2019s \u201cBelichick\u201d book \u2013 published before O\u2019Connor joined The Post \u2013 nearly tied the all-time highest Papa Clicker score with a 4.6 out of 5.
