On Thursday (March 31), Oscars producer Will Packer sat down with <em>ABC <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and said officers were on-site ready to charge Smith with battery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were saying, \u2018This is battery,&#8217;\u201d he says. \u201c[That] was the word they used in that moment. They said, \u2018We will go get him. We are prepared. We\u2019re prepared to get him right now. you can press charges. We can arrest him.\u2019 They were laying out the options.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs they were talking, Chris was being very dismissive of those options. He was like, \u2018No, I\u2019m fine.\u2019 He was like, \u2018No, no, no,\u2019 even to the point where I said, \u2018Rock, let \u2019em finish.\u2019 We needed to let the officers finish laying out what the options were. They said, \u2018Would you like us to take any action?\u2019 And he said, \u2018No.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/share.tmz.com\/videos\/2022-03-31-033122-will-packer-1387245\/\" width=\"560\" height=\"365\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chris Rock\u2019s decision not to press charges prompted the LAPD to issue a statement shortly after the incident took place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program,\u201d the statement read. \u201cThe incident involved one individual sl<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith has since issued a public apology to Rock, his fellow Oscars nominees and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a>s, but Rock hasn\u2019t directly addressed what happened \u2014 at least not in detail. The legendary co<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>n briefly touched on the altercation during one of his sold-out comedy shows in Boston.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a clip shared by\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/chris-rock-responds-will-smith-oscars-slap-1235218763\/\"><em>Variety,<\/em><\/a>\u00a0Rock entered the venue in an all-white suit as the crowd gave him a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhoa, OK!\u201d he said. \u201cYo, let me do the show!\u201d He continued, \u201cHow was your weekend? I don\u2019t have a bunch of shit about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I\u2019m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I\u2019ll talk about that shit. And it will be serious and funny.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when a show attendee yelled, \u201cFuck Will Smith!\u201d Without missing a beat, he added, \u201cI\u2019m going to tell some jokes. As part of his speech, he made a joke about Smith\u2019s wife Jada Pinkett and her closely shaved haircut.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJada, I love you: \u2018G.I. Jane 2,\u2019 can\u2019t wait to see it,\u201d Rock said, a reference to 1997 Demi Moore film.\u00a0Smith initially laughed at the jab but after noticing his wife\u2019s face, he charged the stage and hit Rock across the face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, wow,\u201d Rock said as Smith walked off stage. \u201cWow. Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once in his seat, Smith yelled, \u201cKeep my wife\u2019s name out your fucking mouth.\u201d Rock replied, \u201cWow, dude. It was a \u2018G.I.
