I loved the hands-on training that the program offered and was particularly enthusiastic about getting involved with Concordia\u2019s student <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>papers. I felt confident in the school\u2019s ability to support my growth as an aspiring journalist. I\u2019m so grateful to have ended up here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Describe some of your best experiences so far.<\/strong><br \/>Working in Concordia\u2019s radio newsroom with my classmates has been a highlight of my time here. Those early mornings spent digging for stories and ingesting too many donuts and cups of coffee brought me and my colleagues closer together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you involved in extracurricular activities?<\/strong><br \/>I am involved with Concordia\u2019s independent student newspaper, the Concordian. I\u2019m the paper\u2019s features editor, which is so much fun. I love going to our pitch meetings every week and learning about the stories that our team members are looking into. Their ideas never fail to boost my creative juices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of your professors?<\/strong><br \/>My professors are at the heart of what\u2019s made my experience special. They have been nothing but supportive and encouraging during my time here. They treat us like colleagues in the journalism industry, and every one of them has been super <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roachable and open to any questions that I have about class, the journalism industry or life in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of the school\u2019s administration?<\/strong><br \/>If there\u2019s one thing Concordia students complain about, it\u2019s Moodle, Concordia\u2019s learning management system. Whether signing up for classes or checking grades or financials, I find the website unnecessarily complicated. But you\u2019re usually good to go once you get the hang of it. Whenever I\u2019ve encountered challenges with Moodle or had general questions, Concordia\u2019s administrative staff have been helpful and patient. In my experience, they\u2019re very good at getting back to you when you reach out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is off-campus life like in Montreal?<\/strong><br \/>All of my classes are at Concordia\u2019s Loyola campus in Notre-Dame-de-Gr\u00e2ce (NDG), around 20 to 30 minutes from the downtown campus. Caf\u00e9s and restaurants around the Loyola campus are limited. There\u2019s a Second Cup and a Subway a few minutes away, but that\u2019s pretty much it. I would recommend taking the free shuttle bus downtown every now and then after class. You\u2019ll be right in the heart of Montreal with access to plenty of cool coffee shops and neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>PROFILE<\/strong>: <strong>Concordia University | Montreal, Que. | Founded 1974<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>If I wrote the school motto:<\/strong> \u2018You\u2019ve got this\u2019<br \/><strong>Best place to study:<\/strong> Tommy Caf\u00e9. The decor is beautiful and their desserts pair perfectly with their delicious coffee.<br \/><strong>Best campus food:<\/strong> GaNaDaRa, a beloved Concordia staple. They\u2019ve got the best ramen in town!<br \/><strong>Best cheap lunch:<\/strong> Loyola\u2019s one and only Hive Caf\u00e9 Co-op. They serve free vegan lunches during the week, and they are always delicious and perfectly filling.<br \/><strong>Best pizza:<\/strong> BEVO Bar + Pizzeria<br \/><strong>Best place for a fancy dinner:<\/strong> Modavie in the Old Port. The food is scrumptious and the atmosphere is perfectly cozy.<br \/><strong>Best bar for hanging out:<\/strong> The Burgundy Lion is the perfect spot to meet up with friends on a Friday night<br \/><strong>Best live music venue:<\/strong> Casa del Popolo<br \/><strong>Best hangover breakfast: <\/strong>All\u00f4 Mon Coco, hands down<br \/><strong>Best place for a nap:<\/strong> Vanier Library. I\u2019m speaking from professional experience.<br \/><strong>Best weekend activity:<\/strong> Grabbing a coffee and a croissant and walking around Mount Royal Park<br \/><strong>The thing that surprised me most about the school:<\/strong> The strong sense of community I felt from my very first day.
