Which is a far cry from solely self-written smashes \u2014 certified classics all \u2014\u00a0from 50 years ago, such as Don McLean\u2019s \u201cAmerican Pie,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Eh44QPT1mPE\">Neil Young\u2019s \u201cHeart of \u201cGold\u201d<\/a> and Stevie Wonder\u2019s \u201cSuperstition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In fact, when the 64th annual Grammy Awards goes down on Sunday, April 3, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (airing at 8 p.m. ET on CBS with host Trevor Noah), \u201cPeaches\u201d will hold the distinction of being <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/awards\/grammys-2022-justin-bieber-peaches-grammy-record-1235014831\/#!\">the Song of the Year nominee with the most co-writer credits<\/a> in the history of music\u2019s biggest night.<\/p>\n<p>The 11 tunesmiths who have a piece of the pit for one of Bieber\u2019s eight nominations is two more than the previous record-holder, Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cBlack Parade,\u201d which had nine co-writers, up for Song of the Year in 2021. And Nile Rodgers \u2014 the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.songhall.org\/profile\/nile_rodgers\">Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman<\/a> who has worked with everyone from Diana Ross and David Bowie to Madonna and his own band, Chic \u2014 says that it\u2019s the new normal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Peaches\u2019 is not unusual. That\u2019s actually probably the way most hit records are done now,\u201d Rodgers, 69, told The Post. \u201cThe finished product is really what\u2019s important. So, good for all of those people being able to collaborate on one song. I don\u2019t know how that worked out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The hip-hop effect \u2014 not relying on traditional music and instrumental training \u2014 in both pop and R&amp;B has certainly changed the songwriting <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>. In fact, Olivia Rodrigo \u2014 who is up for seven Grammys \u2014 retroactively added songwriting credits to two of her big hits: Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent for \u201cDrivers License\u201d; and two members of Paramore for \u201cGood 4 U.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But some songwriters are still doing it old-school style by themselves.
