class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The music may have seemed stale \u2014 but the feels were real.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the nominated songs and albums at the 64th Annual Grammys, held Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, seemed downright ancient due to the ceremony being bumped from January to April.<\/p>\n<p>But there were moments that made the night bigger than the music.<\/p>\n<p>First, there was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s video message about his country\u2019s war with Russia. \u201cThe war. What is more opposite to music? The silence of ruined cities and killed people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Then, there was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/04\/03\/lady-gaga-cries-following-grammys-tribute-to-tony-bennett\/?_ga=2.165860990.1759429277.1648991527-832872982.1627314794\">Lady Gaga leaving no dry eye in the house when she performed solo in tribute to Tony Bennett<\/a>, her 95-year-old collaborator and co-nominee who, suffering from Alzheimer\u2019s disease, wasn\u2019t able to make the show.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, there was the tribute to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. While it was always going to be hard to beat the No. 1 pop and R&amp;B smash by the retro-soul super-duo of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, Sullivan sure did deserve her first Grammy after 15 nominations. But Yeezy lost out to Tyler, the Creator and his \u201cCall Me If You Get Lost\u201d LP in the premiere ceremony held before the main telecast. At 78, Mitchell has suffered from health problems that have made her more reclusive in recent years. But, kicking off Grammy weekend, she was the Musicares Person of the Year honoree on Friday night, even joining to sing a bit of \u201cBig Yellow Taxi\u201d at the end.
