That shift \u2014 correct but long, long overdue \u2014 was prompted not by any change in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> around COVID but by the fact that mask mandates had become a politically disastrous issue for Democrats.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And the agency <em>still<\/em> hasn\u2019t updated its absurd guidance that kids in pre-K, literally the lowest-risk group for COVID on the planet, should have to mask \u201cregardless of vaccination status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of schools, consider the dismal CDC record on closures. Even after months of data showed that 1) COVID was never a real risk to school-age kids unless they have serious comorbidities <em>and<\/em> 2) schools are not major vectors of transmission,<strong> <\/strong>the agency still slow-walked its re-opening guidance, largely at the behest of teachers unions (another Dem powerhouse). <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/republicans-uncommon-cdc-teachers-union-school-reopening-guidance\">New reporting even reveals<\/a> that the United Federation of Teachers actually had \u201cline-by-line\u201d influence on the language of the guidance itself. <\/p>\n<p>The Food and Drug Administration, meanwhile, mandated a disastrous \u201cpause\u201d on the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine. Justice Sonia Sotomayor suggested that \u201cover 100,000 children\u201d were hospitalized with COVID during the Omicron surge. (About 7,900 under-18\u2019s <em>in total<\/em> have been hospitalized for COVID since March 2020.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to COVID rules \u2014 and the science behind them \u2014 the federal government has displayed a mixture of brute incompetence and political opportunism that has hurt millions in ways that may prove irreparable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who takes suggestions from COVID.gov does so at his own peril.\u00a0\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
