Won A Grammy Despite Sexual Misconduct Scandal &#8212; And Twitter Is PISSED!<br \/>\n&#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div itemprop=\"articleBody\" class=\"text\">\nSo much for cancel culture..?<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>#MeToo<\/strong> movement brought about a wave of so-called cancellations, but there are some big names that drew more attention than others. <strong>Harvey Weinstein<\/strong> was perhaps the most infamous, but <strong>Louis C.K.<\/strong> was another example that drew a lot of attention and conversation. Back in 2017, after an expos\u00e9 featuring the testimony of several victims, he admitted to exposing himself and masturbating in front of a number of women (particularly fellow co<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ns) without their consent. Not only was this a gross violation, he also derailed careers as he kept his disturbing predilection quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the world was disgusted. He immediately fell from his perch on top of the world, his movie dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared, he became a Hollywood pariah. For a while\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: How The Recording Academy Defended Louis C.K. &amp; Marilyn Manson Noms\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday night, however, the disgraced comic was, well, the opposite of disgraced when he was awarded with the <strong>Grammy<\/strong> for Best Comedy Album. The project, <em>Sincerely Louis C.K.<\/em>, came out well after his scandal and even includes jokes about his misconduct. The category wasn\u2019t part of the televised portion of the ceremony, but as the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> began circulating on <strong>Twitter<\/strong>, there was an immediate backlash.<\/p>\n<p>One user wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLouis CK just won a Grammy, so I don\u2019t want to hear any more whining about cancel culture. Men can sexually prey on women, the victims can have their careers and confidence destroyed, it can all go public \u2013 and there will still be no real consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another observed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLouis CK just won a f**king grammy for best comedy album. This is beyond disgusting for all victims of SA, but is especially telling of how these revered institutions, in fact, do not give a f**k about victims of violence. They will ALWAYS foster and celebrate violence\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">People who say Me Too has \u201cgone too far\u201d love to point to what they see as feminism\u2019s supposed sadism. But I for one just wish that men\u2019s sexual abuse and harassment was considered morally worse than women\u2019s complaints about it. Will has already resigned from the Academy, with more consequences from the organization likely to follow. Not to mention all his upcoming projects are being shelved as companies distance themselves from him. Quite a few fans were perplexed by the appearance of hypocrisy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLouis CK winning a Grammy is some wild shit after all the shit this week. Good googly moogly the hypocrisy\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLouis CK just won a whole ass Grammy while y\u2019all are either calling for Will Smith\u2019s head or crying about cancel culture. The backlash in both cases has highlighted the institutional issues that affect women and people of color, and possibly illuminated the need for serious reform.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, this is the same show that barred <strong>Kanye West<\/strong> from performing because of his \u201cconcerning online behavior\u201d \u2014 though he also did, in fact, win an award that night. Again, these are two different scenarios, but it certainly doesn\u2019t seem clear where the Academy stands on abusive behavior\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Scroll on for some more reactions to Louis\u2019 win:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Louis CK already won it twice before.
