After chatting with several students and professors for over an hour, I was sold. I was especially drawn by the five-year concurrent education program; students complete a B.Ed. degree alongside a bachelor\u2019s degree in arts or <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Describe some of your best experiences so far.<\/strong><br \/>My most memorable university experience to date is the Laurentian Residence Baseball Tournament of 2019. This is an annual event when all floors in residence compete against one another. My floor lost every single <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> we played! Nevertheless, we had an absolute blast and still laugh about our performance today. Another great experience was a course I took in Canadian history. Although I\u2019m still focused on becoming a teacher, this course helped me discover a passion for Canadian history and opened my mind to new possibilities for myself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you involved in extracurricular activities?<\/strong><br \/>I have been a member of the residence life team, and I got to know many first-year students and helped them adapt to university life. I\u2019ve also devoted time to the Lambda, Laurentian\u2019s English student <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper (Laurentian is a bilingual university) and participated in multiple intramural sports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of your professors?<\/strong><br \/>I cannot praise my professors enough for how supportive, understanding and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roachable they have been. There are always exceptions, but on the whole I have found that profs at Laurentian are always responsive when students need help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you think of the school\u2019s administration?<\/strong><br \/>Laurentian University\u2019s administration has faced its challenges in the past couple of years, but it continues to provide students with proper guidance and support. Although I cannot deny that our community faced extreme losses last year (when Laurentian went into creditor protection and had to close several programs), I would like to reassure prospective students that our student body, staff and administration are resilient, and our institution is on the mend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is off-campus life like in Sudbury?<\/strong><br \/>Sudbury\u2019s most striking feature is its close relationship with northern Ontario\u2019s natural environment. The city is home to a vast number of trails, forests and lakes, making it the perfect location for students to connect with the outdoors.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>PROFILE<\/strong>: <strong>Laurentian University | Sudbury, Ont. | Founded 1960<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>If I wrote the school motto:<\/strong> \u2018The heart of the north\u2019<br \/><strong>Best place to live:<\/strong> University College Residence for first-year students; West Residence for upper-year students<br \/><strong>Best place to study:<\/strong> Third floor of the J.N. Desmarais Library<br \/><strong>Best campus events:<\/strong> All events hosted in residence (Pizza Hut Prom, Sunday sports, Residence Formal, Airbandz, etc.)<br \/><strong>Best campus food:<\/strong> Most definitely the Pub Downunder<br \/><strong>Best cheap lunch:<\/strong> Tea &amp; Bloom<br \/><strong>Best pizza:<\/strong> A.P.P. Sudbury Club<br \/><strong>Best place for a fancy dinner:<\/strong> M.I.C. Canadian Eatery &amp; Whisky Pub or the Laughing Buddha<br \/><strong>Best giveaway:<\/strong> The SGA\u2019s 12 Days of Giveaways in December<br \/><strong>Best bar for hanging out:<\/strong> The Coulson or the Nash<br \/><strong>Best live music venue:<\/strong> Little Montreal Bar &amp; Restaurant<br \/><strong>Best hangover breakfast: <\/strong>The Great Hall<br \/><strong>Best place for a nap:<\/strong> The Brenda Wallace Reading Room<br \/><strong>Best weekend activity:<\/strong> Skating on Ramsey Lake in the winter; hanging out at Laurentian\u2019s private beach in the summer<br \/><strong>The thing that surprised me most about the school:<\/strong> How tightly knit the Laurentian community is.
