TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Series<\/a>-winning team member, Cashman not only gave the signal to go forward with the two players, but encouraged it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltimately, we have to turn the page,\u201d Cashman said. \u201cCarlos is a friend. He was a friend before. And you have to make those decisions in your life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened in Houston was not good. It was a blemish on the game, and certainly was very hurtful and impactful to us. But I feel like Carlos is part of the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cashman also feels that Beltran will be very good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has an ability to impart his wisdom in such an amazing way,\u201d Cashman said.<\/p>\n<p>For Yankees fans, there may still be a scar because of Beltran\u2019s involvement in 2017. If so, Filippelli thinks Beltran will win them over pretty quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think some people who don\u2019t want to give him the benefit of the doubt may in fact give him the benefit of the doubt once they hear him,\u201d Filippelli said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Winter_Meetings_Baseball.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Manager\" class=\"wp-image-19821017\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Winter_Meetings_Baseball.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Winter_Meetings_Baseball.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Winter_Meetings_Baseball.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Carlos Beltran<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Beltran and Maybin will be part of a new sound on YES and Amazon Prime Video\u2019s 21-game package. It is a new era in Yankees broadcasting.<\/p>\n<p>Ken Singleton, after years of almost retiring, has finally really walked away from the booth. In studio, Buck Showalter left to become the Mets\u2019 manager, a job which was briefly Beltran\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, David Cone, who will be one of ESPN\u2019s \u201cSunday Night Baseball\u201d analysts, and Paul O\u2019Neill will each do around 65 games.<\/p>\n<p>Maybin will be on for about 40 and Beltran is scheduled for 36, which Filippelli decided on to match the uniform number Beltran wore. John Flaherty, YES\u2019s Swiss Army knife, will do games and studio.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Kay will be the play-by-player on the vast majority of games, while Ryan Ruocco will pinch hit occasionally.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Beltran, through YES, decided not to talk for this story, as he did not want to be asked more questions about the Astros scandal. Beltran addressed them Monday, however, answering questions with fellow YES employee Kay, on a taped edition of \u201cCenterStage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the Astros championship is stained and that they were wrong. He still does not understand why he was singled out. His understanding during the investigation was that players were not going to be held accountable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone gets immunity except Carlos Beltran? I don\u2019t get it,\u201d Beltran said.<\/p>\n<p>Going into the booth could be an ideal entry point for Beltran back into the game. When discipline was handed down for the Astros scandal, manager A.J. Hinch, bench coach Alex Cora and GM Jeff Luhnow all received one-year suspensions. Hinch, with the Tigers, and Cora, back with the Red Sox, returned as managers. Luhnow has not been welcomed back.<\/p>\n<p>Beltran wasn\u2019t officially suspended by commissioner Rob Manfred, but he was the only player singled out in MLB\u2019s report, causing the Mets to end his managerial reign before his first game.<\/p>\n<p>With YES, Beltran will have an opportunity to step back into the spotlight, show why the Mets hired him and display the acumen that made him a potential future Hall of Famer as a player.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"701\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/091919_YankeesAngeles-e1649217796372.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Yankees\" class=\"wp-image-21796425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/091919_YankeesAngeles-e1649217796372.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/091919_YankeesAngeles-e1649217796372.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/04\/091919_YankeesAngeles-e1649217796372.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Cameron Maybin<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Anthony J Causi<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s going to be a manager some day,\u201d Filippelli said. \u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to be a broadcaster forever, but who knows?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beltran will analyze games in English, having grown up in Puerto Rico, where Spanish is the dominant language. This may be the first time this has happened in Yankee broadcasting history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not so sure Phil Rizzuto\u2019s first language was English,\u201d Filippelli said.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Maybin, 34, only played 82 games with the Yankees, back in 2019. He is one of those guys, though, who just lit up a clubhouse, even if he wasn\u2019t a star.<\/p>\n<p>Maybin had coaching opportunities, including potentially with the Yankees, but that would defeat the purpose of being home to watch his four kids in their activities, including his oldest, 14-year-old Trent, who is already getting some looks as a top baseball and basketball player.<\/p>\n<p>Maybin hit four home runs in four straight games in June 2019, which made an impression. In all, he will have more than 100 days on the air.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow about bringing a new flavor?\u201d Maybin said.<\/p>\n<p>He looks at Nate Burleson, Michael Strahan, Harold Reynolds and Eduardo Perez as broadcasting road models. He\u2019s into <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, choosing to put on Kay\u2019s YES show many afternoons in his Asheville, N.C., home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy wife gets upset when I watch his show for three hours,\u201d Maybin said.<\/p>\n<p>The questions about the Astros\u2019 scandal will likely fade if Beltran and Maybin are good on the air. They do need to provide answers when asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDid it go too far?\u201d Maybin asked. \u201cClearly, but at the time I didn\u2019t look at it as they were trying to screw the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From Cashman to Filippelli, the Yankees think that Beltran and Maybin will enhance the game.
